Introducing JusticeNet SA's New CEO - Rebecca Ross

A long time social justice advocate, Rebecca brings with her a wealth of experience across private practice, community legal centres, judicial environments, government and start-ups. On starting the role this week, Rebecca wrote to the current JusticeNet SA membership with the following message:

'Having been a recipient of the JusticeNet bulletin since I volunteered with the service as a law student in its early days, it is an honour to reach out to you now to introduce myself as the new CEO of JusticeNet SA. I always looked forward to reading about the developments at JusticeNet in the bulletin, serving as a fond connection to SA when I was too far away to see the Mt Lofty lights! I look forward to continuing to share news with you all about the great work of the JusticeNet team - who recently set a new standard of what can be achieved in a week standing up the Afghanistan Response Clinic.

The South Australian legal profession sets a high bar of what can be accomplished when purpose is put first.

Since my time practicing in SA, I have worked as a front line lawyer in regional and remote NT, a registrar and director in courts administration, and most recently leading partnerships and innovation at a legaltech start-up. This combination of experience has given me a 360 degree appreciation of the mechanics of justice. It has made me realise that lasting justice solutions never come from just one of those areas, but need to be forged and supported by a cross section in order to create genuine change for the people we serve. As an independent organisation with such tremendous support from the profession, I am deeply passionate about what can be achieved at JusticeNet.'

Welcome to the team, Rebecca.
