Walk for Justice 2011 - a great success!

JusticeNet held the fourth annual Walk for Justice on Monday 16 May to celebrate National Pro Bono Day.

On a very crisp, yet sunny and clear morning, more than 250 walkers gathered in Victoria Square at 7.30am to walk in acknowledgement of the unmet legal need in the community and the important pro bono contribution of the local legal profession. The Walk also raises much-needed funds for the work of JusticeNet, South Australia’s pro bono legal assistance referral scheme.

Walk for Justice 2011

Celebrate National Pro Bono Day and join us on the Walk for Justice 2011.

All around Australia, members of the legal community will be walking in support of pro bono legal services. Last year the Walk attracted over 1,400 walkers nation-wide and was led in each state by some of the leading lights of the Australian judiciary and profession.

Legal Seminars for Not-For-Profit Organisations

Modern not-for-profit organisations (NFPs) operate in a complex legal and regulatory environment, but often have limited discretionary resources (non project-based funding) with which to navigate their way through these complexities.  To assist, JusticeNet is running a series of 3 low-cost seminars in the latter half of 2010 which will cover key legal issues affecting NFPs. The seminars will be presented by senior members of the Adelaide legal community.

Walk for Justice 2010

The Walk for Justice 2010 was held on 17 May 2010.  On a perfect autumn morning, 300 people enjoyed a five kilometre walk starting from Victoria Square and ending with a light breakfast at the Hilton Hotel to show support for pro bono legal services in South Australia.
