JusticeNet is seeking a solicitor, preferably with 1-2 years PAE, to assist with the delivery of the Self-Representation Service (Federal Courts) SA/NT and the Self-Representation Service (District and Supreme Courts).
Applicants should note that the position is based three days per week at the Federal Courts SRS on a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2017 (with potential for renewal, subject to funding). The other two days per week are based at the State Courts SRS and this part of the position is only guaranteed until 30 September 2016 in the first instance. JusticeNet is seeking ongoing funding for this service.
The successful candidate will provide legal and administrative assistance to the Senior Solicitors based in our Federal and State Courts Self-Representation Services and to our Executive Director. You will also work directly with volunteer lawyers who provide advice on a roster basis through our Self-Representation Services. You will have direct client contact and will assist the Senior Solicitors to manage a busy caseload. This unique role will involves working across a diverse range of matters and will give the successful candidate extensive experience working in the General Federal jurisdiction of the Federal Courts and the civil jurisdiction of the District and Supreme Courts.
The salary package includes a base salary of $55-62,000 per annum plus superannuation and access to tax-free salary packaging.
